CO2 Racecar

Date: Thursday March 13, 2008 6:00pm
Location: Ice Rink in the Kern Center
Supplies: 1 Pitsco Metric Dragster Kit, accessories must be approved by Nick.
Objective: Design and build a CO2 powered racecar for maximum distance. See the Rules for more details.

Tower

Supplies: 3 Ingeniums, 1' of Masking tape, 6" of Duct tape, 4 Paper clips
Objective: Build a tower that extends towards the ceiling, and is self-supported. No supports can made from anything surrounding the tower, and it is only allowed to touch the floor. The tower must stand on its own power for 20 seconds.

Paper Airplane

Supplies: 1 Ingenium, 2 Paper clips, 3" of masking tape
Objective: The goal is to get the plane to fly the farthest, without deviating from the flight path. For each inch the plane lands outside of the path, two inches will be subtracted from the overall distance.

Marshmallow and Spaghetti Tower

Supplies: 15 marshmallows, 15 spaghetti sticks
Limitations: No external forces are to be applied to the tower in any way
Objective: The goal of this is to build a tower to support a designated mass. The tallest tower that holds the mass will be the winner.

Soap Bar Races

Supplies: A bar of soap, any other items you want
Limitations: The car must be powered by gravity only. No external forces can propel the vehicle.
Objective: The goal of this competition is to design and build a car to race down the incline. The cars will start at rest at the same point on the incline, and each team will have a maximum of three runs down the incline. The car that goes the furthest will be the winner.
